Happy Every Day!

As you guys probably know (I'm hoping that you do, at least!), today was Father's Day. I'll admit, however, that my family isn't big on special events usually.

For example, for my brother's 18th, both my parents forgot it was his birthday. I, on the other hand, had scored a free $50 Tarocash voucher that week and planned to buy his present with it. My ingenious scheme was to leave the price tag on so that he'd see how much I'd 'spent' on him and buy me an equally expensive present for my birthday. Don't judge me, I like presents haha.

However, for Father's Day, my brother, mum and me decided to cook my dad a special meal. When he saw the creamy cabonara pasta, his steak cooked just how he liked it and the red wine ready for him, he told us he felt so lucky. He said it'd been so long since he'd had a proper Father's Day and that he was really glad he'd chosen to come to Sydney all those years ago.

So, that's a little insight into my family. We're definitely not perfect and we've had our ups and downs. But its little things like this that make me realise how just dedicating a little bit of your time to someone can make them so enormously happy.

Hope you guys did something nice for your dad today! And, if not, it doesn't matter - there's still 364 more days to a year haha. Treating someone special shouldn't be confined to just one day of the year. Father's Day and Mother's Day and Birthdays should just be called Every Day haha. =)

P.S. If you wanted to know, my ingenious scheme didn't go quite to plan. When I gave my brother the $50 Tarocash belt for his birthday, he was like "I saw the Tarocash voucher on your table, you cheapo!!" Hahaha, lesson learnt: Don't leave your vouchers lying around. =P

Anyways, always remember guys! Happiness Equals Bracket. =)
