You had a bad day.

After spending the day studying for an upcoming exam yesterday (yes I know how that sounds), I can't say I had the best day. I moaned and whined to my parents for a few minutes, or it could have been hours.
But then I re-watched a video that Lindy sent me the last time I wasn't in such great spirits - and now I'm definitely smiling again!

Have a look:

Did that make you smile? Were you swayed by it's sweetness? Are you having chicken for dinner?
I don't know. Only you can answer those questions.

Ladies and gents, we have our first letter...

A friend who wishes to remain anonymous has given me the first letter he's written and I think he's off to a pretty good start:

Day 1 - Your Best Friend

dear *******,
i have known you for exactly 6072 days, and i have loved you unconditionally as a brother, as a friend, and as a life partner, for every single one of them. you have the most beautiful mind of anyone i have ever had the fortune to meet, and i would like nothing more than to live the rest of my life with you by my side. you are the only person who has never let me down, and i know i can always depend on you. whenever i need someone to talk to, you're there. whenever i need someone to comfort me, you're there. whenever i need someone to play games with, you are there. thank you.

Ahhh, I love it when you boys start to get all sensitive and mushy. It makes us girls laugh - but also feel like you ain't all bad.

Have you got a letter you'd like to share? Think this letter was really written by a girl?

Comment! Or email one of us, and tell us if this made you smile.

But we never underestimate a good Pent-up Vent(screaming about everything in the life at your cat) - and after finding this challenge on the internet, we're willing to test if it really works.

Did something happen...?

Have you noticed something strange these days?

Today Lindy and I were waiting at the train station, watching the people around us, when we noticed something bizarre.

No one was smiling.

Sure, people were frowning at newspapers and stressing and listening to their iPods boredly - but not a single person was smiling.

Is it so hard these days to find a smile somewhere within ourselves? Is there so much unhappiness in the world? Did something terrible happen when we weren't watching?

Sometimes life can seem so drab that we forget about all the good things that exist in the world, and forget how to turn on that smile. Teenage years are probably the worst (and don't we know it) - pressures to fit in, troubles with friends, parents and (hah, don't lie) the opposite sex.

So that's why we started this blog! We want to start encouraging people to think positively, optimistically and ultimately? Just feel happier, even if it's only one small smile at a time.

And before we finish off, we'd like to ask you one last question:

Are you smiling right now?

If not, keep reading this blog and we'll do our best to put a smile on that pretty face. Yes, even you boys.

If you are - that's a little weird because nobody smiles to themselves while surfing the net. But keep posted anyway, and we might make you do just that!
