It Gives Me Hope.

I have to admit, one of those sites that always make me laugh is www.fmylife.com because when things aren't going that great, listening to other people's funny misfortunes somehow cheers me up. Yes i know, what a sadistic person I am, fee-fi-fo-fum! :)

On the other hand though, the fact that so many people in the world think their life is such a mess makes me wonder if there is any hope for anyone at all to live happily? And while I'm sure there's a few of you that already know about this one, it made my day when I discovered quite literally the opposite of FML (thank you Nayoung!):

http://www.givesmehope.com

It's not as funny, and I'm not sure if it makes me smile either (shock! horror!). But there's something else about this site - something brimming with emotion that makes me come back to it again and again.

Anyway, it's worth having a click so if you feel like a break from your 4 hours of maths homework (which I'm sure you've all been doing).
Some of my favourite GMH:

-I'm a doctor.

Across the ward from me, a young couple was told that their baby would have down syndrome.

The lady goes "Did you hear that? Our baby is going to be perfect'.

Couples like that GMH

- To the man who stopped me from jumping: THANK YOU!

You stopped me from ending everything on the night I received word my fiance was killed in action. 6 years later, and I'm marrying you tomorrow.

Tommy, your being there and loving me in spite of how messed up I was GMH.

- Today, I went to In-N-Out with my friends like we do every week.

The cashier I always see took my order: a drink. He handed me my receipt, and wrote on it.

"Please eat something. You're beautiful and should stop doing this to yourself."

He noticed what I was doing when no one else did. He GMH.

Sometimes life is amazing. It really is.
And I realised just being able to wake up everyday should put a smile on my face =) Hopefully it does the same for you!

Remember, Happiness Equals Bracket =)

  2. Omgosh hi Ellen! And hi Bella. =)
Went to the site and got a bit carried away, read the first 30 pages so far haha.

Not sure if I'm just super emotional but some of them made me tear up. Some of them really did give me hope so thanks for telling me about it. =))

A girl in my class has just recently gone through chemo and lost all of her hair during summer.

Her best friend, who has beautiful thick curly hair, came in with a shaved head.

She gave her hair to her friend, who now wears a beautiful head of hair.

Friends that know no limits GMH

I was at the airport and soldiers were boarding a plane to Iraq.

A little boy, about five, went up to one of the men and said, "When you're overseas, can you tell my mom I love her?

She's in the army like you, but daddy said she's not coming home, so can you tell her for me?"

Last night, my good friend Zach was killed in a drunk driving accident.

He was driving his little sister home from a sleepover where she had gotten sick.

Right before the car hit, he threw himself over his little sister, saving her life.

    Zach's love GMH.

I am a teacher for second graders.

This past week we've been learning about facts and opinions.

I said the statement "You are beautiful." A little girl raised her hand and said it was a fact.

When I told her no she said, "Everybody is beautiful. No matter what, they are beautiful."

    Little kids like that GMH.

While volunteering at a local old folks home for people who are quite far gone, I noticed the only old man there who was walking.

I asked a nurse about him, she told me he was 100 years old and did not live there.

    He volunteered.

    Heroes of all ages GMH

  4. HEY BELLA LINDY!

Just wanted to say; this is the best blog I've ever read - something more than someone's life (albeit hilarious and stupidly funny); I reckon you guys really make people think about how awesome this world is, even there's so much crap in the world.

And you guys; with so much love and compassion and etc, really make people smile with your generosity (like Milo morning) and gah; I can't describe you guys in words! *HUG*

And yes that site is really good :)
Albeit some of it is really sad and made me tear up too; it really makes me smile and want to help others be happier too :)

The only thing I blame you two is
THAT I SPENT THE LAST HOUR READING OFF THAT SITE INSTEAD OF DOING 3U ENGLISH....BUT that's a good thing; it beats doing work to read about how cool people are :D :D (Y)
